Boomerang d’O Século: a new retreat in Ericeira where the sea, memory, and sustainability meet
In Ericeira, where the Atlantic sets the rhythm of the days and the landscape invites you to slow down, a new space has been created for those seeking tranquility, nature, and authenticity. Boomerang d’O Século, the new tourist unit of Fundação O Século, revives the atmosphere of a former estate to create an intimate retreat with sea views.
The property, donated to the Foundation in 2002, has now been carefully restored, preserving the rural heritage that has always defined the place. The old villa and surrounding area have been transformed into a hospitality project that emphasizes connection with the landscape, natural light, and the serenity that characterizes this part of the Portuguese coast.
With 17 en-suite rooms, Boomerang d’O Século focuses on a human-scale accommodation experience. Here, contemporary comfort coexists with the simplicity of the natural environment: gardens, open ocean views, and spaces designed to contemplate the horizon or simply enjoy the silence.
Sustainability was also a guiding principle in the renovation. The project integrated environmentally responsible solutions and benefited from a green financing line, reinforcing a conscious approach to tourism development.
But Boomerang d’O Século is more than just new accommodation in Ericeira. The project is part of Fundação O Século’s strategy to enhance its heritage and generate revenue that supports its extensive social work, allowing tourism to directly contribute to the continuation of the institution’s mission.
Between the charm of a historic estate and the unique energy of the coastal town, Boomerang d’O Século offers an invitation to discover Ericeira at a relaxed pace, with time to enjoy a new perspective of the Atlantic.
The official inauguration of the unit will take place on March 13th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, bringing together institutional guests, partners, and media representatives. Attendance confirmations should be submitted by March 9th.
